Accessibility at Nexxo
Version 2026-08-14.4
At Nexxo we want anyone to be able to take part in the community: post, find a business, attend an event and talk to people, with whatever device they have and however they use it.
This page says what exists today and what doesn't. It isn't a statement of intent: it's a checkable list, and anything not built yet is named as such.
What already works
Visual
- Keyboard shortcuts, with their list inside the site: press ? from any screen. They do not fire while you are typing.
- High contrast, in Settings → Display and in both themes. If your system already asks for it, the platform follows without you touching anything.
- Alt text on photos: whoever posts can describe each image from the ALT button in the composer, and that description is what a screen reader reads out.
- Text size setting inside the platform, in Settings → Display. Four sizes, applied to the whole site and saved per browser.
- Light and dark themes, switching instantly and following your system setting.
- Contrast and sizes built to be read: every colour comes from one palette, not from values scattered across screens.
- The platform can be driven from the keyboard: focus is visible, and no action depends on hovering.
Hearing
- Captions turn on ONCE and stay on for the next video: whoever needs them doesn't need them for one video only.
- Mute is global too. Turn it off once and it stays off.
- No video starts with sound unless you ask for it.
Cognitive and motion
- If your system asks for reduced motion, the platform obeys: animations switch themselves off, with no setting to hunt for.
- No screen takes you somewhere else without being asked.
- Errors appear where the failure happened and explain what went wrong, instead of showing a number.
Language
- Full Spanish and English, chosen in Settings → Accessibility, display and languages.
What's missing, and we say so
Not built yet:
- A formal WCAG audit run by outside specialists.
What is left is the outside audit, and it comes last on purpose: auditing what is still unbuilt would be paying to be told what we already know.
What we suggest keeping current
- The latest version of your operating system.
- The latest version of your screen reader or assistive technology.
- The latest version of your browser.
This isn't an excuse: if something breaks on an older version, we still want to hear about it.
The community writes the content
The best of Nexxo is what people post, and that includes photos and videos that don't always arrive in a form everyone can use.
We can't write for anyone, but we can make it easy and explain it. That is why alt text is asked for as you publish, with the photo in front of you, and not hidden in a setting.
Write to us
If something doesn't work for you, if you use assistive technology we haven't considered, or if you want to suggest an improvement, tell us from the contact page.
An accessibility problem reported by the person living it is worth more than any review of ours, and it's treated as a bug, not as a suggestion.
